So hospice has come to talk to us. They asked Poppy what he thought and he said," this is an exciting time for joy and celebration. I think we should have some champagne!" He really meant it. He wanted us to sneak him in some.So we did!
We popped a bottle of Asti Spumanti and shared it together with styrofoam cups. Karsten (Al's brutha from anutha mutha) popped the bottle and Al presented the toast. He said, "To friends now and friends for eternity."
Perfect! What absolutely holy and beautiful fellowship!
Yesterday was a full day and I missed checking on you. Now I find we are getting ready to send you off on another adventure. Al, you rascal, you jumped to the front of the line! And here I am with tears of joy running down my face. We are all blessed to be among your "great cloud of witnesses," cheering you on. That bottle of champagne needs to march boldly through the front door and declare "This is Al's day!" We love you so much,

Want you to know I have been following this journey from Phoenix, and am laughing, crying, and praying along with you. Love you all so much. Our God is a strong tower, a great refuge in times of trouble.
